Ms. Rachel Fan
Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Rachel Fan comes from a strong multinational pharmaceutical (Novartis, Burroughs Wellcome, SmithKline Beecham, and later GlaxoSmithKline “GSK”) background. She previously held key positions in many cross Asia Pacific countries’ business development, sales, and marketing departments.
Rachel’s previous contribution between 2006 and 2015 in GSK was mainly in the company’s strategic leadership role and as an Innovative Business unit director in driving innovative new product launches and market shares uptake. Ten out of the 15 new product launches became market leaders (audited HKAPI industry sales reports) in the product category in less than three years.
During her tenure in the leadership role, Rachel has also obtained numerous company local and regional marketing excellence awards and regional leadership awards consecutively between 2008 to 2013 and was also identified as a local talent since 2008 for the company to further invest and develop, e.g. through leadership program in the Asia Pacific region and the UK headquarter.
Rachel continued her passion for medical innovative products and started her own genetic testing service company in 2015, from which she has successfully gained a leading sales position in pediatric genetic testing and diagnostic whole-exome sequencing in academic medical institutions. To date, she has delivered over 90% net profit return on investment in 4 years. Rachel joined GBL in April 2020 to realize her passion further in innovative microbiome medicine.
Mr. Kenneth Leung
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kenneth Leung was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the company in December 2021, bringing with him more than three decades of regional experience in financial management, corporate finance & advisory, mergers & acquisitions, strategic planning, and operations management.
Kenneth was formerly the Associate Director & Head of Finance of a startup that specializes in the development and manufacturing of diagnostic and surgical medical devices. Before joining the startup of medical devices in 2017, he had held a senior management position in corporate finance & advisory professional firm and had extensive experience on IPO, M&A, fundraising, equity transactions as well as valuation in the Asia-Pacific region.
Before practicing his finance and accounting profession in the advisory firm, Kenneth took up various management and leadership positions in a global technology manufacturer which is publicly listed in Hong Kong. During his service between 2000 to 2006, he had made some major acquisitions in the United States, Europe, and Asia and successfully grew the business from a regional manufacturer in Hong Kong and Southern China to a global company with operations in more than 23 countries.
Kenneth is a CPA member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst of CFA Institute of the United States. He received his Master of Arts in Professional Accounting & Information Systems, and Degree of Master of Business Administration from the City University of Hong Kong, and a Degree of Master of Science in Finance from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
